Kiyomizudera(“Pure Water Temple”) is one of the most famous temple in Japan. It was founded in 780. There is east of Kyoto. Kiyomizudera is known for its wooden stage that juts out from its main hall. We can see nice view from there, Cherry bloosam and momigi by seasons. Under the temple, there are many stores, suvenior shop, ice cream shop, Japanese item shop and so on. Sometimes Maiko is walking there, so we have a chance to take a picture with Maiko. She will be take kindly.
Gion is Kyoto’s most famous geisha street. there is around Shijo Avenue between Yasaka Shrine in the east. In there, we entertained by a maiko or geiko while dining at an ochaya. As expert hostesses, we can enjoy conversation, serving drinks, leading drinking games and performing traditional music and dance. The services of geiko are expensive and exclusive, traditionally requiring an introduction from an existing customer. In recent years, however, some travel agencies and hotels have started to offer lunch or dinner packages with a maiko for foreigner. So, foreigner does not need to care about Japanese skills. This oppotunity will be valuable experience.
